Marco “Mike” Delrio and Walter “Steel” Visca met for the first time in 2007, in Turin, thanks to mutual friendships. At that time, Mike was playing and singing for his solo project under the name of “Heroes Live Forever” and was looking for friends to help him with his project. In 2008 Mike manages to set up an acoustic live show for some of his friends. In the tiny audience, Steel was paying attention to the songs Mike sang. After the show, Mike asks Steel to join the “band” and pushes him towards a bass player career. Steel buys his first bass guitar and the two started practicing on the songs Mike wrote in the past few years although something was missing. The duo asked Nadir “N” Paradiso to join the band to play drums even though he never did that before. They managed to afford a cheap drum set and they started practicing every weekend for a couple of years under the name of Deadline Disaster. Mike wrote about twenty songs and the band ocasionally performed covers of Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, Yellowcard and Motion City Soundtrack. The trio started to evolve very quickly though the songs were musically predictable and raw even if probably that’s why they called theirselves a punk band. The band had a lot of original songs and was always more enthusiast when they had to play in Steel’s garage; but they couldn’t find any venue available for them. That’s when they met the owners of Double Dominantd recording Studio. They were friends of Steel and offered the band a couple of hours of free recording so that they could at least have a demo cd to spread in every local in town. A four tracks demo ep recorded in one day still didn’t manage to get the trio any show. The band, in the meantime, was starting to suffer some inner friction. N and Steel broke their friendship and Mike had to side Steel and keep playing without a drummer for a couple of months. Luckily, Luca offers to play with them. Luca comes from an hardcore background and gives a new hint of metalcore and post-hardcore to the band. The trio started writing new songs to baptize the new drummer and in a few weeks the first live show opportunity comes to knock at their door. A rock contest in Volvera (TO) is the first live appearance of Deadline Disaster. Then, in that same year, the band managed to play on some important stages around northern Italy with a discrete success. The band was starting to become popular in the alternative underground in Italy but Luca and Steel fought and the drummer leaves the band. Mike and Steel were on their own once again. Mike started to record their songs in his home studio trying to have a good product to show that Deadline Disaster are still rocking even without a drummer. Mike records every instrument alone and Steel, who lives a hundred km away from his band mate, starts to play with other bands to improve his skills. Mike and Steel change the name of the band to symbolize the new transition and so they become Deadline!. The album is ready, a self recorded demo album with ten tracks called “DEMOns”. The album goes on some of the main online markets like Amazon and iTunes even if the quality is that of a non professional producer. Mike and Steel can’t find time to play together and the band soon faces a silence period. This goes on for a year and in that time Steel plays with Luca Vinter band and Mike goes on with his solo projects “Emily Mistakes” and “Caroline Blues”. The two meet again in 2013 and decides it’s time to look for another drummer hoping for the best. After an acoustic live show in Turin where Mike and Steel realized it was to go hardcore again, Damiano “Dam” Giordano calls them and enters the band. Mike and Steel felt gorgeous the first time with Dam that seems to know the songs since ever. They start playing a lot and, due to copyright issues, the band goes by the name of Driveway Fall. Now, the band will play May 3rd and 6th still under the name of Deadline! May 7th is the official day for Driveway Fall birth. Stay tuned for more info..
