"Lightrunner are an awesome band that sound like a mixture of The Jam and Thin Lizzy..." - WRY LION
Lightrunner are an exciting alternative rock band hailing from the south coast of England. The band began back in February 2014 when members Rob Clarke, Rob Canham, and Adam Rees were playing in a different band together that eventually fell apart due to musical differences with another member. A few days later, Clarke, Canham and Rees decided to start a new band. With no name but several musical ideas at this point, the band were on the hunt for a bassist to complete the line-up. After weeks of searching for the suitable fit on bass, Alex Cassar joined the band and Lightrunner was finally born. With the intention to only ever play successful gigs with sets as tight and fun as possible, the band decided to stick to the studio for over a year, mastering the ever growing selection of tracks they hold in their arsenal.
In February 2015, Lightrunner took to the studio to record a live EP entitled ‘Subject to Change’, which is named after the title track. With the EP recorded and due to be released in early summer 2015, Lightrunner began to book a selection of gigs throughout the UK in order to promote the EP and its release.
February 2015 continued to show to be a busy month for the band with an offer to play at Gosfest 2015 in the summer supporting Scouting For Girls on the main stage, and booking several other gigs including a date in the well acclaimed musical city, Bristol.
Lightrunner now look forward to the coming months with the intention to book several other gigs around the UK and take the venues they play by storm.
